The time long struggle for scrapbookers has always been with picking and using paper, whether that be using up that horde of a paper stash or simply picking paper to use on your next layout. These two struggles work hand in hand and I hope that the rules I’m about to share with you will help you use up your paper stash by giving you guidelines on how to pick it out more effectively.

When I started working for Kiwi Lane almost 2 years ago, I was not a scrapbooker….not even close actually. But as I have been surrounded by cute layouts and cards and fun projects over the last little while, scrapbooking has started sinking into my creative bones. I really hesitate still to call myself a scrapbooker, since I am surrounded by experts, but it is very fun and rewarding to see a layout come together with pictures of loved ones surrounded by fun, cute patterned paper.
I love paper but It has been a journey, that’s for certain! There have been two parts of this journey; 1. defining my relationship with paper and 2. managing it, and in between the two I’ve had to simplify the process of using it. Before I go into how I’ve managed my paper stash, I wanted to talk about my relationship with paper and how it has evolved over the years. From single sheet paper to Double Layout Kits, there has been something to be learned from all of it.
Let us set the scene for you; you’re going through your scrapbooking supplies and it begins to dawn on you that you have an unbelievable amount of paper and paper kits, maybe even a Kiwi Club Kit you have yet to use. You begin to think of all the trees you’re wasting as you go through this paper, and you wish you could use ALL of your paper kit, but you always end with that little bit at the end.
