Live in the Moment
Elements & Tiny Explore
I’m not sure I can express how much I love these two sets; especially for those outdoor, or boy-related memories, which is what I used them for this month. I had these two pictures, that I just adore, of my hubby and my son together.
I just can’t help but think how LUCKY I am to have both of these guys in my life! They both bring me so much joy!
I decided to make a one page layout to highlight these two pictures of my guys, and I used the remainder of my paper, as well as the sentiments that came with this kit, to create 4 cards! I was running a bit low on ready-to-go, handmade cards, so this was a perfect opportunity to restock. I probably could have gotten more cards out of this paper kit, but I only had time to make 4. I will save the leftovers for another project.
My Design
I went into this project knowing what pictures I wanted to scrapbook, what paper I wanted to use, and which Designer Template sets I would be designing with, so all I needed to do was start playing! After about 10 minutes with the Designer Templates and my background paper I had locked in my design.
Scrapbooking is cheaper than therapy
I love when I get to this point. I usually put a show on my laptop and lose myself in the tracing, cutting, and inking process. I am discovering, more and more, why the saying “scrapbooking is cheaper than therapy” rings true for so many. I have personally found that, after a long day, when the kids are tucked into bed, it is extremely therapeutic to partake in some Creative R&R (Relaxing and Rejoicing in the Creative Process!), doing one of the things that I love the most…scrapbooking!
You will notice that my initial design is just a starting point for me. I usually don’t stray very far from the overall design, but you may find that the idea grows a bit as you are putting your layout together. You will notice that I actually started with just one photo in mind, and during the process I pulled in a second photo, and even added a dragonfly from the Tiny Explore set (so cute!).
I also cut two of Elements # 3 instead of just one, and tucked them behind my photo. It turned out to be a fun way to use these quote bubbles. These slight additions and adjustments are all part of the process of Playing Your Way to Creativity. The result will be something that feels right, and true to your sense of self-expression. And that is the important thing. So remember to follow your heart!
Once I had my layout finished, I used what was left of my Enjoy The Ride paper kit, along with the included sentiments, and continued my creative therapy session by creating these four cards!
Live in the Moment
Overall, my night was kind of perfect, just like the two most important men in my life!
