Which Designer Templates are right for me?
So, we know that it can be difficult to decide which Designer Templates to purchase. There are a lot of them to choose from! Whether you are just getting started with the Play-to-Create system, or are adding to your collection, we’ve found that a little bit of advice can be extremely useful! In this post, we want to give you some information and some recommendations that we think will help.
First, all of our Designer Templates for Scrapbooking fall into a few categories. Each category gives you new options for adding layers to your scrapbooking layouts. Let’s take a quick look at each category.
Borders
First, let’s start by selecting a Border set that fits your design style. Our Border sets are the foundation of a great scrapbooking page! We use them to create a unique and exciting frame that highlights and accentuates our photos. And they are the perfect framework on which we can place additional layers and embellishments. Select at least one set or as many as you would like to customize your starter bundle. There literally is no wrong choice here!
Accessories
We recommend at least one Accessory set to get started. We have created a variety of designs for all occasions that you can use over and over again, not just once like other expensive embellishments! And the best thing about them is that they will be cut right from your paper! Not only is this an inexpensive way to dress up your layouts, but it adds a new layer of color and texture that is sure to coordinate perfectly every time!
Having a few different sets can be really helpful for a diversity of interest. Select as many as you would like to customize your starter bundle.
Tiny Accessories
Are you attracted to the layering style and designs? If so, you are going to love having a Tiny Accessory set in your stash! They are a great way to add depth to your creation. You can layer them on top of your Accessories, or use them alone, or in a cluster, to fill an empty space. You can also use the Tiny Accessories on your hand-made cards. Bonus!
Select a set that you feel you will use in various creations alongside the Accessory set you selected. Choose as many as you would like to customize your own starter bundle.
Fun Borders
This set is optional to getting started, but the Fun Border sets are a lot of fun to layer with a Border set and expand your design options between just those two sets. Add these on top of, or between your Borders for that little something extra. Or use them alone to create a simpler setting for your photos.

Photos
We will be honest! Having the Photo sets help save you so much time and effort. It will give you the last tool to help you visualize your complete layout creation. We believe it is a must-have, but you decide!
We have three different Photo sets. Our Photo and Mini Photo sets are an incredible tool for helping you decide how to arrange your pictures on your layout, how many pictures you can fit, and what sizes you will crop them down to. We also have a Photo Mats set that will help you easily mat your photos. These sets will take the guesswork out of this step of the scrapbooking process and allow you to get a complete look at your layout, before you cut into any of your photos. Saving you time and doubt. Each of these categories contains a variety of different sets, but we recommend that you pick up sets from a few different categories.
Which sets you choose is up to you, but no matter what you choose, you can’t go wrong!
All of our Designer Templates are created to work hand-in-hand with each other, and as soon as you change the paper that you are working with you will change the feel of your layout completely! So just a few sets goes a long way! And you can expand your collection at any time, adding new design combinations that will inspire you as you preserve your memories.

One Border set and one Accessory set will allow you to design a simple, beautiful frame with simple, beautiful embellishments. And you will be able to create many layouts with just these two sets. You might want to choose an Accessory set that fits the theme of a current or upcoming project, whether that is a vacation, a wedding or that stack of great camping pictures you’ve been meaning to get to!

If you like a more layered look, you can add any one of our Tiny Accessory sets to your selection. You could pick up the tiny version of the full-size accessory set that you chose, so that you can layer them on top of each other. Or you could pick up a set that will work as a creative place to add journaling, like Tiny Brackets, or Tiny Tags.

Photos, Photo Mats, & Mini Photos
We have found that having all three of our photo sets is extremely useful. This gives you the ability to design with, and crop standard photo sizes, a variety of smaller photo sizes (which is perfect for adding a lot of pictures to one page!), and makes matting fun and easy. Photos should be the star of our page, and these three sets make accomplishing this so simple.
