Sunny Side Up!

There is something wonderful about having a package show up on your doorstep, more so when the contents inside inspire you to transform it into something new. The Kiwi Club is just that ‘something’ and Shiloh was able to transform the May 2021 Kiwi Club Kit into three beautiful layouts all using the Sunny A la Carte and the Kit paper. Each two-page layout is unique and uses the Sunny A la Carte in a brand new way! Let’s take a look!

One: Fill It In

The Sunny A la Carte is perfect for framing photos, adding movement to your page, and a great way to include an extra layer and pop of color. For this layout, Shiloh used the stencil feature on the Sunny A la Carte as a guide to color in the shapes using a GellyRoll pen. You could fill it in using other things like stickles or plain old paper like Susan and Debbie did (for a look at those, download the free Idea Book)!

This isn’t the only fun thing about this layout! Using the Banner 3 Fun Border as a guide, Shiloh aligned her photo’s across the two pages and then adhered them down to create a fun row of photos with a nice point at the end. Do you like the idea of creating a row of photos across a two-page layout? Susan did something similar to this using the March 2021 Kiwi Club Kit.

Two: Cut It Out

This time around, instead of using the stencils as a coloring guide for you to fill in, use it as a guide for tracing and cutting! This creates some fun negative space on your layout! You can even use the dashed lines on the Sunny A la Carte as a guide to sew thread around the circle for some added texture.

Shiloh was able to fit 12 photos on this layout, did you notice? Shiloh was able to use the Sunny A la Carte as a way to matt and draw attention to her photos while the Coastal Highway Border set framed the rest of her photos! Usually, when using a border set to frame photos, you think to bookend a row of photos between two borders but what would happen if you reversed it? Instead of having two borders and one row of photos, try two rows of photos and one border and trap the border instead! This opens up a new design element to your layout and a new chance to play-to-create. The two-rows of photos don’t even have to be the same size, as demonstrated by Shiloh!

Three: Put A Ring On It

Like a certain song suggests, sometimes you should just put a ring on it! In this case, you can use the Rings 3 Designer Template! This helps break up the shape of the Sunny A la Carte, add more dimension, and help frame a photo or sentiment if you decided to put one at the center! Shiloh decided to go ahead and cut out the surrounding stencils, but you could fill it in and then add the ring if you wanted (Susan did this on her two-page layout as shown in the May Idea Book).

Be Inspired

This Digital Kiwi Club Idea Book from May 2021 will inspire you to Play to Create! You will find all sorts of inspiration on these pages! Each Digital Idea Book is a collection of projects made specifically with that month’s Paper Crafting Kit. Each of the co-founders is given a single kit per person, and then they create all that they can.
