Swim Like A Fish

Hi everyone, Jen here. This layout made me smile seeing it come together and really made me proud once I saw those adorable photos added in the end.  These photos were taken about 2 weeks after Noah turned 6 years old last Summer while he was taking Swim Lessons at the local City Pool here in Meridian, ID. We had dabbled with Swim Lessons at a few locations but it wasn’t until we tried the City Pool that things just clicked. He took Level 1, 2 & 3 lessons here in two week intervals and just excelled more than he did anywhere else with swim lessons.

Swim Like A Fish

Before each lesson began, when we passed thru the locker room, I’d have him look himself in the mirror and I’d ask him, “What are you going to swim like today?” And each day he’d raise his little arm into the air while staring himself in the eyes and say, “I’m going to swim like a fish!” And just like that he was off to the pool for his lesson. I’m not sure if saying that helped at all but I do think it gave him a little confidence and made him excited to get into the water that day.

And that’s how I came up with the idea for this layout. I feel brilliant at times when a new layout idea leads me to come up with a way of using a piece from one of my Designer Template Sets that I’d never thought of before.  This layout for instance! Normally, I would only think to use the fish from this set for a beach, ocean, or fishing page but today while looking through my Paradise Accessory Set and seeing those fish I was instantly reminded of what I told him to say each day before his lesson began. And the fish were just what I needed!
