Can you believe that Christmas is just around the corner? I love getting lost in the memories of last year, blasting Christmas music, and dreaming of how this year will be.

I had this month’s layout all prepped with my Moments of Cheer Layout Kit, my Christmas pictures from last year, and my favorite border–McKay Blvd. But then, I got my hands on the new pocket borders and my plans changed! I just had to play with Pocket Scrapbooking!

Pocket scrapbooking opens a whole new world of design possibilities. I found pocket scrapbooking to be less intimidating than traditional scrapbooking because you can break it apart. I started by choosing which pockets I wanted my photos in. Next, I chose any main title pages or text blocks. Then, all that was left was decorating the remaining squares. It was fun to tackle the small pockets. Plus–with everything on such a tiny scale–I could get so much done with all my scraps!

One thing that helped was using my photo templates to help me Play-To-Create this layout. I didn’t want to use my sheet protectors as a background while designing, and risk scuffing or marking them. Instead, I used my photos to represent each pocket. Not only did it save my sheet protector, but it also helped me focus in on the design of each pocket.

I am so excited about pocket scrapbooking! It is so much fun to have a new format to Play with, and the result is as cute as it could possibly be!
