Making Themed Sections
Arin here, and today I have a fun tip of making a scrapbook page with no pictures! Yes, I said NO pictures. I like to separate my scrapbooks into sections and making a themed section page is one of my favorite things to do when it comes to scrapbooking. This page is my camping themed page. I used Kiwi Lane Designs Wacky, Celebrate, and Chevrons templates and really got mileage out of the My Mind’s Eyes Now and Then Collection we were so lucky to receive to play with. Oh my is that collection just fun and full of life – a perfect complement to a camping page!
Here is how I did it
Step One: Building your Layout-
Using a solid 12×12 MME Now and Then design paper as a base, begin to build a layout before full execution takes effect. Once all pieces are in place, snap a photo for future reference and then start pulling off the Kiwi Lane templates to trace, cut and ink.
Step Two: Embossing and Color Spraying the Sun Template from Wacky:
Taking the sun template, I ran it through my embossing machine using a distressed stripes embossing folder. Once embossed, I sprayed it with Heidi Swapp Color Spray and curled up the edges up to add dimension.
Step Three: Building the Layout:
Using MME’s Now and Then Collection, I began using the stickers, cutouts, and enamel dots to build upon. I added some fabric letters (yes, I use them on EVERY project – I just love them) and some felt flower ribbon and felt flower embellishment to finish it off.
There it is! A perfect piece of crafty art ready to set the tone for a fun camping section to my scrapbook!
Until Next Time,
