I love a beautifully wrapped gift…

Sadly this is not my forte. While I do okay wrapping a gift, the finishing touches are always something I struggle with, and more often than not the recipients name is haphazardly scrawled across the paper with a Sharpie marker.

Thankfully for me, and for those of you that struggle with the gift wrap finishing touches, Design Team member Sandy Ballard comes to the rescue with some great tips. And get this—she shows us how to use our scrappy scraps!

Wraps from Scraps

Creating gift tags and wrapping from your paper and embellishment scraps—it sounds like heaven!

I decided that since we are all hoping for some snow for Christmas, that I would use some fun “chilly, winter” paper from We R Memory Keepers “Merry January”.  I really love that I can coordinate it with my kraft wrapping paper (a staple in my wrapping stash!).

Wrapping Tips

1) For ‘tape-less’ seams, use little dabs of glue from low-temp glue gun—awesome!
2) For small packages, cut strips from scrap paper, ink the edges, and use them as the “ribbon” to wrap around the gift
3) To add interest to group of packages, coordinate your color scheme and then use fabric scraps (within that scheme) with texture (I LOVE using burlap—it comes in several earthy colors and can be inexpensive when you have a coupon!).  Velvets, lace, or even a string of beads can add some fun to your gifts.
4) And of course, the BEST of all— using the Kiwi Designer Templates to create your “bows”!  Layer the different size Designer Templates—Floral, Accents, Nature, and Shapes and you can create a bow for your gift topper that will be original & adorable! Using up those scraps that you already have can stretch your Christmas budget too.  P.S. The receiver of your lovely gift can ‘pop-off’ the Kiwi bow and REALLY re-use it (maybe on a new scrapbook page…hmm….Kiwi Designer Templates: the gift that keeps on giving!)
