Halloween Door Sign
When I was asked to make up a simple Halloween craft for October, I immediately thought of this sign! I have always wanted to have a Halloween sign that lets trick-or-treaters know that we are out of candy. It would keep me from having to get up every few minutes just to disappoint another tiny little ghost or itty-bitty Jedi Knight! This was the perfect excuse for me to get it done!
FREE PRINTABLES FOR YOU!
To help you create this craft quickly, I put together 2 simple printables that you can use.
Supplies that you will need:
- One 12×12 chipboard sheet (they come as a backing to our layout kits or you can pick one up in the paper section of your craft store)
- Patterned paper (I used an older Authentique Line)
- 2 12×12 sheets of black Cardstock
- Spray Adhesive or a glue stick
- 4 small black buttons for the ghost’s’ eyes.
- Twine for decoration
- Halloween Sign Printable
Designer Template Sets Used:
- Spook Alley Border Set
- Halloween Accessory Set
- Tiny Holiday Accessory Set
Design a simple border with a few accessories to go around the printable.
Once you have decided on your design, trace, cut and ink your paper elements so that they are ready to adhere to the chipboard.
Using your adhesive, attach the 2 black cardstock pieces to the front and back of the chipboard. Decide if you want to cut some off of the bottom portion of your 12×12 sheets to leave less space at the bottom of your sign. I took off about an inch and a half. If you are planning to do this I would suggest doing it before you adhere everything to your backing. I used my paper trimmer to cut through the chipboard.
Once this is done, adhere all of the cute paper layers to your project. Then add any little embellishments that you want to finish off the design. Punch holes in the top and add twine or ribbon so you can hang it outside of your house for Halloween!
I hope you enjoy this fun and simple craft idea!
Have a happy and safe Halloween!
