We love our country, and decking out our homes with stars and stripes of red, white, and blue is just one way we celebrate! Mindy Fullmer created a patriotic Snap Frame for her own home, and she shared some tips and tricks she used to create this fun holiday décor.
Coat Your Snap Back
To start, Mindy used the Shiplap Snap Back for the background of her Snap Frame and whitewashed it to create that fun weathered look. In other Snap Frames she created before, she noticed that when whitewashing her Snap Backs, sometimes, the material would bow as they absorbed the water from the white wash. To prevent the Snap Back from warping, she suggests applying a clear coat to the wood before whitewashing. She really likes this technique because it allows the texture from the shiplap and herringbone patterns to shine through whatever coating she applies.
